Batteries sold in the EU Member States, the need to comply with the EU Battery Directive
(2006/66/EC), in accordance with the instruction label producer must provide appropriate
materials for its battery, while manufacturers were required to subsidize recycling and
reuse mechanism, and the announcement of waste material recycling information.
Prohibit the following battery in marketing:
(1) containing more than 0.002% cadmium portable batteries or accumulators
(used in the Emergency Alert System, except medical equipment and cordless
power tools were).
(2) containing more than 0.0005% of mercury in all batteries or accumulators
(except mercury content of less than 2% of button batteries).
